Therapy, Intervention, & Assessment for kids & teens REDEFINED

A culturally responsive practice dedicated to helping kids see their unique strengths.

At District Kids, we believe that kids are inherently joyful, curious, caring, and resilient. At times, barriers get in the way for them to see this in themselves. You did not fail, nor do you not need to have all of the answers. We believe in family strength and our need for community and are dedicated to empowering families to navigate challenges that arise.

Who We Are

We are inspired by the joy, spirit, and resilience of kids and have built a practice dedicated to working with families, children, and adolescents with this in mind. We understand that people learn best when they can show up as they are and are seen, known, and valued for this. We want to empower kids and families by noticing their inherent strengths. We are not here to fix. We show up to build community, partner with you, and to meet each child where they are. We are curious, not all knowing, and consider the impact of words and actions. Our creative therapeutic interventions help by teaching kids to navigate independence through increased self-understanding.

Families are our partners in working with children to understand themselves.  We also hope to give you more space for you: to stop and breathe, to better understand, and to navigate challenges that emerge with your own power.  We value culturally responsive, holistic therapy to help children see their inherent strengths.

Areas of Expertise

Hi I’m Pru, Certified Therapy Dog at District Kids. I inherently understand that not everything is spoken in words and there is healing power in just being present. I have been training for work as a therapy dog since I was a puppy and now I am a certified therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. I enjoy lounging, being pet, chewing bones, and long car rides.
